Dr. Nick Sanders

PT, DPT, CSCS, CIDN

Dr. Nick Sanders is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and is Certified in Integrative Dry Needling.  Nick is the Founder of PHYT For Function and a national instructor and course creator for Integrative Dry Needling. After many years working with youth and adult athletes, and many injuries himself, Nick realized that there is a big gap in what is offered in fitness/sports performance, and what is offered in the conventional physical therapy and health care arenas.  PHYT For Function was started with the mission to be able to help people who live in this gap get back to the activities they love through meaningful manual therapy and exercise.

Nick has been a physical therapist for over ten years. He Graduated from Youngstown State University with his Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science in 2008 and Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2011.  Prior to physical therapy he was involved in youth and high school sports coaching, personal training, and sports performance coaching.  He has done significant advanced training in manual therapy, including Mulligan Manual Therapy, certifications in Integrative Dry Needling, and basic manipulation and soft tissue treatment strategies.  He is fortunate to get to teach both Integrative Dry Needling and Neuro Release Treatment Courses throughout the country to other rehab and health care providers.

Nick started PHYT For Function in 2016 with the understanding that health care is getting more and more congested.  There are greater barriers to entry, less time with providers, and all at an increased cost to the patient.  He realized that the ability to deliver high quality, 1:1 care, was disappearing in the conventional physical therapy model and wanted to create something where he and other highly skilled therapists could provide the highest quality treatment to their clients.

When Nick isn’t working with clients and his team at PHYT,  you will find him spending time with his wife Amanda and their two kids Sydney and Mac, fly fishing for trout or steelhead, and doing anything he can to get outside and stay PHYT For Function.
