Dr. David Ramsey. PT, DPT, NRT.
Dr. David Ramsey is a physical therapist from the Ohio Valley. David earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from the University of Akron, graduating summa cum laude in 2013 before continuing his education by earning his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Youngstown State University in 2016. Since then, he has worked specifically in outpatient physical therapy treating a variety of conditions ranging from general orthopedics, spinal impairments, chronic headaches, vestibular dysfunction, and sport-related injuries. To supplement his entry level education, David continued expanding his knowledging by focusing on courses for pain management, exercise program integration, manual therapy through Neuro-Release Techniques (NRT) and dry needling through the Institute of Integrative Dry Needling (IDN). He has also taken coursework through Integrated Kinetic Neurology to help with further integration of pain science and treatments away from the rigid biomechanical model and more towards a neuromechanical model. David combines all of these techniques through a unified lense to help provide the most comprehensive treatment model for his clients/patients to ensure that they receive the best care possible to maintain a healthy lifestyle. He has experience working with several competitive athletes for endurance training, bodybuilding, powerlifting, and gymnastics to help them remain healthy for competition and injury free during their training periods. Through these years of continued education and clinical experience, David has worked with a wide variety of conditions and this has afforded him the luxury of getting to hone his skill set to a finer level. He is excited to join the team with PHYT for Function to continue to provide excellent care to help improve his clients' overall health and well-being, while providing physical therapy as a source of primary, preventative healthcare to those who need it.
David currently lives in Austintown, OH and enjoys spending quality time with friends/family, biking on the local trails, writing/playing music as a drummer in his band, and wasting way too much time playing video games.
